Youth Ministry

Vision Statement:  To bring students to a true understanding of God and Jesus Christ so they can have a personal relationship with their Creator and Redeemer that continues to grow through out their adult life.

Teenagers are very important! According to George Barna, today’s youth will greatly shape the future of our nation. We believe this ministry group has the most potential for continuing to carry the message of Christ to a dying world.

  • They largely define the values and leisure endeavors of our nation.
  • They substantially impact our economy by their choices as consumers and their work habits.
  • The nature of the family depends on how teenagers prioritize family and approach parenting.
  • The future of the church will be determined by their belief systems and their commitments.

Our Student Ministry includes young people who are in grades six through twelve. This group plays an important role in the ministry of Hermon Baptist Church. We seek to equip each of our students to be effective ministers for the Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to worship opportunities, we offer a drama ministry, retreats, mission projects, and other fellowship and mission events.

Presently, our young people meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am for Bible study and on Sunday nights at 5:30 pm and Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm for discipleship and fellowship events. During the school year, the Middle School students participate in AWANA Junior Varsity and the High School students enjoy AWANA Varsity.

We offer Student Life Ministries' Bible study curriculum on Sunday evenings. Participants include students from 6th - 12th grades and can be joined at any time.  We meet in Family Life Center for games at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday nights.
