Make a difference. Mission opportunities through Hermon Baptist Church:

Interested in joining a team going to Brazil? See Brenda Carter or contact her through the church office: 704-843-4924 or contact@hermonbaptist.org.

The Church Renewal Journey is a series of lay-led, revival-type weekends that take the church on a biblical-based, spiritual journey to becoming on mission with God. If you would like to become a team member to help lead other churches in renewal, contact Robin Bass at  robinbass@hermonbaptist.org.

Read about the persecuted church on this Voice of the Martyrs website: http://www.persecutionblog.com/. Sometimes there is an opportunity to sign a petition to release someone from prison, as is the case of Asia Bibi, a young mother falsely accused in Pakistan.

For men, opportunities to mentor one-on-one in the Prison to Society program at Kershaw Correctional Institution. For educators, opportunities to teach basic skills once a week to a small group of men in the same program. See Marilyn Malmstrom or contact her through the church office: 704-843-4924 or contact@hermonbaptist.org.

Want to make a difference in the lives of Cameroonians? Many live in small villages with no medical help. Eric Wolf, a helicopter pilot in Northwest Cameroon, and his wife have established an emergency medical fund to help transport those in dire need to a hospital. Make a check out to Hermon Baptist Church with a note that it is for “Cameroon emergency medical flights.”

Hermon Baptist Church can match you up with a child in an orphanage in Kyrgyzstan, someone you can pray for and correspond with. See the book of children on the table in the Welcome Center or contact the church office: 704-843-4924 or contact@hermonbaptist.org. If you would like to make a donation to the orphanage, make a check out to Hermon Baptist Church with a note that it is for the Kyrgyzstan orphanage.

The Word of God goes forth in power. Join the Gideons and help get Bibles and New Testaments into the hands of those who may not know the Lord. See Barry Joyner or contact him through the church office: 704-843-4924 or contact@hermonbaptist.org.

Volunteer or make donations to the H.E.L.P. Crisis Pregnancy Center of Monroe at 1700 Secrest Shortcut Road, Monroe, 704-289-5133. See www.monroehelpcpc.net for more information.

BRAZIL MISSION TRIP 2010

One hundred sixty plus people are needed this year to work with our Southern Baptist Convention Brazilian missionaries and Nationals to reach the city of Belo Horizonte.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:  Construction, VBS,  Evangelism, Sports Clinics, Musicians, Medical Clinics, Drama, and Preachers.

This year, we will depart on Thursday, July 8 and fly all the way to Belo.  Friday afternoon building leaders can check out building sites and there will be a group meeting on Friday night.  Saturday a tour will be provided for sight-seeing.  Team members will participate in their assignments from Sunday morning, July 11th through Sunday night, July 18th  as appropriate.  Departure from Belo will be Monday night, July 19th, arriving in the US on Tuesday morning, July 20th.

Cost is not confirmed at this time but will be approximately $2425.00.  This includes flights, bus transfers, insurance, hotel, 2 team t-shirts, tour, daily buffet breakfast.  Churches will provide most evening and lunch meals.

NOW is the time to pay your deposit of $200, due by March 28th. If you are interested in participating, you can talk with Robin Bass or Brenda Carter regarding Passports, Visas, questions , etc.  The remaining balance for the trip will be due in mid-June.

God is already putting together a Hermon Team and perhaps some members from other churches in our Association.  Mission Teams consist of prayers, givers, and goers; all sharing equally in the harvest and blessings.  If you are unable to go with the team this year, perhaps you would be willing to give so someone else would be able to go.  You can make donations to Hermon at any time and mark it for the Brazil mission
